Alongside a trustee board of seven, Sam Schoolar founded Shine a Light Support Service in September 2016, and achieved registered status in January 2017.
Sam, a childhood cancer survivor, is passionate about supporting other families affected by childhood cancer.
“My motivation for beginning Shine a Light is a life-long journey with Childhood Cancer which started when I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia at the age of 10. The treatment I received lasted for two and a half years, the journey is still going. I have strived my whole life to help other families who face this journey, I have volunteered with children’s cancer charities from the age of 16, and have been part of many events aimed at raising awareness, funding for research, paving a better future for children diagnosed with childhood cancer and making life better for those affected now.”
